Sewing with Colors is an Online Store for sewing enthusiast looking for A new way of Sewing. For many years now of teaching my passion of sewing, and sewing with others as well, I've seen the glorious moments when sharing a finished project. But, I've also seen the sadness and frustration of not being able to complete it for not understanding the measurements, and other sewing processes.
How the idea of Sewing with Colors was conceived? One day, years ago, a lady came to fulfill her dream project, and for a relaxing time for herself of her daily stressful work as she was a Director in the company she worked. To make the long story short, she didn't come back for her next class. I called her to ask how she was, and to know if we didn't satisfy her expectations. Her answer was: " I can't believe that I can not control myself over the machine's lines and are difficult to understand for me, I feel so embarrassed that I don't want to even try it again." My answer was: "Please give me a chance to help you understand and control how to guide your fabric. I will call you back soon."
For almost a week I worked over various prototypes to help her, and then Voila. It was like an instant picture in my mind, the design was made, she tried it, and her happiness and love for sewing were right on track again. The birth of a NEW WAY OF SEWING for all those who need help to their tired eyes, for very young ones that doesn't understand fractions, for those who are "allergic" to math in a hobby, for those machines that doesn't have any markings at all, here is the solution that you were waiting. It has vertical lines to sew, but also, horizontal lines to stop and pivot in the very same measurement.
The Label comes with the variation for the 2 types of needles positions: default left needle position, or default center needle position. It also fits almost any brand of sewing machines.
The innovation was so well received with our clients, that a process of requesting a Patent started. A year and a half after filing our Application was granted. US 9,430,956 B2. After that, we went further on, an applied for a Patent to established it for the sewing machine needle plate, and guess what, it was also granted a year and a half also after applying.
Understanding that to make more people to understand sewing and have new sewing enthusiast, Sewing has to be innovated. We are not diminishing the value of measurements, on the contrary we want more people to understand it and relate to them in a different, joyful and colorful way. Anyone can use our RULER WITH COLOR - SEWING WITH COLOR RULER. You can use this ruler even in a school project, a home project or designing project, because you can choose accurately as one color represents only one measurement.
